Event information

Our flagship event, Pier to Pier, returns on Sunday 17th May with hundreds of local people walking along the beautiful Essex coast in aid of their local hospice.

The scenic walk, which has been going since 2011, starts from either Clacton or Walton Pier taking in views of the sea, and participants can choose to walk the seven miles between the two piers or challenge themselves further to make the return journey – 14 miles in all.

Pier to Pier is open to all ages, plus the route is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Many people walk on their own or in groups to remember their loved ones, or simply take part to support St Helena.

This is a fantastic event for the whole family, including those four-legged friends as this event is dog friendly!

Pier to Pier is open to all ages, plus the route is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.

If you’ve never taken part in the Pier to Pier walk, there’s no better time to get involved and take in the sea air!

A minimum of £60 is expected by a fundraising participant. We encourage you to be BOLD and are encouraged to raise as much as possible.

Can we fundraise as a team?

Yes of course. When the main person registers on Enthuse they can ‘create team’ and call this as agreed by everyone. Following this, each person when they sign up can then ‘join team’ and search for the team name.

It is very straight forward and easy to do. All fundraising pages created will then be linked to the main team page so everyone’s fundraising counts to one big team total.

Will I receive a medal?
Yes, all pre-registered participants will receive a medal at the end. Those that choose to pay on the day and those that change their finishing point on the day may not be guaranteed a medal.
Are refreshments provided?

If donated, there may be water available but please do bring your own refreshments especially water. Most cafes along the promenade will be open on the day.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, well behaved dogs are welcome on a lead.
Is the walk suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs?
Yes it is. There are certain points where a ramp will have to be used but at these points it will be sign posted clearly and marshalled.
