Statement on assisted dying

Statement on assisted dying from St Helena's Board of Trustees:

St Helena's mission is to provide the very best care for local people facing incurable illness and bereavement in north east Essex, regardless of diagnosis or personal circumstances. We support members of our community, helping them make their own choices at the end of their lives and to live with dignity.

The legislation on assisted dying remains under review by Parliament and so it remains prohibited under the current law.

Our priority is ensuring that all those in our community who could benefit from hospice care are aware of the wide range of services and support that St Helena provides and are able to access them should they choose to do so.
