St Helena Hospice set to open a new furniture shop in Colchester this February

St Helena Hospice is preparing to open a new charity shop on Magdalen Street, Colchester. The new shop, located at 80 Magdalen Street, will specialise in second hand furniture and home furnishings, including sofas, chests of drawers, desks, tables and outdoor furniture.

Head of Retail, Ian Daniels, said: “We’re excited to open Magdalen Street Furniture – the latest addition to our charity shop offerings in north east Essex. We have been working hard over the last few months to transform the fantastic space into an excellent shop for our community.”

St Helena Hospice’s Magdalen Street Furniture will open on 14th February 2022.

The charity is currently recruiting new volunteer retail assistants to help with the day to day running of the shop, whose responsibilities will include greeting and serving customers, operating the till, managing stock and keeping the shop floor tidy. Volunteering is proven to be beneficial for both mental and physical health, so any time you can offer whether it’s as little as a couple of hours once a week, or several hours more often, your time will benefit both you and St Helena. For more information about volunteering please contact St Helena Hospice by emailing volunteer@sthelena.org.uk or visit www.sthelena.org.uk/volunteer.
