Experience the magic of this nighttime walk.

Grab your leg warmers, hit play on your Walkman and backcomb your hair because this year's Midnight Walk will be 80s themed in celebration of St Helena's 40th anniversary!

Here's a little outline of what we have in store:

19:30 - Open for entry

During this time you'll have access to
1. A fun Clubbercise session warm up (you won't be able to resist joining the fun) and
2. our Event Village, a vibrant community filled with delicacies such as: 
  • Calabrian Pizza
  • Quality Coffee For You
  • Sparkle Bar
  • Glowbot
  • Delicious food & refreshments bar
  • Dazzling stilt walker
  • Bubble magic performance
  • Retail area: cozy wool hat and winter wear stall

21:30 - Walking party begins

Secure your space ahead of time by registering on our website before Wednesday 24th September!

Choose between 4 and 7.5 mile routes - both include a special in memory stop at the Hospice with hot drinks available

Before the walk

If you have pre-booked you'll receive a QR code via email from Ticketing Events by the Friday before the event. Have this ready to scan on arrival.

T-shirt collections

If you've purchased a St Helena T-shirt during registration, you can collect it in advance on Wednesday 24th or Thursday 25th September 9am to 5pm from our fundraising office at:

1. What is the Midnight Walk?
A walking party around Colchester!  

Walkers are invited to join the St Helena Hospice Midnight Walk in our 40th anniversary year. If you wish to join in the fun with the 80s theme, feel free to dress up, have fun, party and ‘Light up the Night’ in aid of St Helena Hospice. 
2. What date is the event?
Saturday 27th September 2025
3. Where does it start and finish?
Stanfords, Wyncolls Road, Colchester, CO4 9HU
4. Is there car parking available?
Yes, parking will be available opposite Stanfords in Phoenix Square. Our marshals will direct you accordingly.
5. How long is the walk?
Participants are offered a 4 or 7.5 mile route and are both on well lit pavements that are relatively flat around Colchester. 

Both routes will pass St Helena Hospice on Barncroft Close. 
6. What time can I register on the night and what time does it start?
Registration opens anytime from 7.30pm and walkers leave at 9.30pm.  We do ask that all walkers arrive in good time of the walk starting.  

Do note, we have a full event village kicking off the evening from 7.30pm including music, stalls, food and entertainers.   
7. Is there an age limit?
The event is open to all aged 11 and over.
8. Is the event open to all genders?
Yes, the event is open to all genders.
9. Is there a bag drop?
Unfortunately, we don’t offer a bag drop area. You bring any belongings along with you at your own risk. 
10. Are T-shirts available?
Yes, they are available at point of registration at a cost of £10. They are available for COLLECTION ONLY. Dates for collection will be shared ahead of the event or can be collected on the night.  
11. How do I sign up?
Follow the sign up link on this webpage to be taken to our Enthuse platform for registration. 
12. Registration fees
Early bird discount codes will be available at selected events and via some digital channels. These codes are valid until Sunday 17th July and will entitle the user to sign up for £12 per person. 

Adult Ticket (18yrs+) = £15.00 

Junior Ticket (11-17yrs) = £6.00 

Midnight Walk Hero Adult £25.00 / Junior £16.00 – no sponsorship required 

Ruby Ticket = £40.00 
13. Where can I source themed items for the walk?
Look no further than our registration. Theme packs are available to purchase for £5 when registering for Midnight Walk. Foam fingers are also available at £2.50. Both can be collected ahead of the event or on the night. 
14. Will there be refreshments at the venue or on the route?
Yes, refreshments will be available ahead of the event within our event village, more details to follow. You will be have the opportunity to purchase some delicious refreshments from our St Helena Catering Team at our Memory Stop located at the Hospice.
15. Will there be toilets?
Toilets are available at the event start/finish and also on route at The Range and the Hospice.
16. What is taking place at the event?
We are excited to kick off the evening at 7.30pm with a DJ and live music. There will be lots of fun filled additions to the evening inclusing stalls, performers, face painting and more to keep you entertained ahead of the walk.
17. Can we bring spectators?
Of course, we welcome supporters taking part to bring family and friends to see them off on their walk for St Helena Hospice. There will be lots to do and see within our event village so come along and have some fun!
