Whether it's a non-uniform day, getting creative by making your own collection pots or taking part in one of our events, there are lots of exciting ways you can fundraise for St Helena Hospice and get the whole school and college involved.
No matter how you decide to fundraise, your support will help local people facing incurable illness and bereavement.
It’s beneficial for all children to have an awareness of the care St Helena Hospice provides locally. A great way to do this is to support the hospice by fundraising. There are many ways school children of all ages and college students can get involved and we would be delighted to discuss these opportunities with you.
Students from the Gilberd School presenting funds they raised for St Helena Hospice
The Gilberd School has a long history of supporting St Helena Hospice, through non-uniform days and other fundraising activities. Even more amazingly, they have proudly chosen St Helena as their Charity of the Year for 2026, demonstrating a continued commitment to supporting local hospice care.
As part of this partnership James Martin-Whymark and Rebecca Corser; Community Fundraisers at St Helena; were invited into the school to deliver assemblies to each year group. These sessions helped pupils understand the work of St Helena, the impact our services have on the local community, and how they can support through a variety of fundraising activities and by taking part in St Helena events throughout the year.
Fundraising will be led by the school’s enthusiastic Community Committee, with pupil representatives from every year group. The committee will develop and share fundraising ideas across the school, helping to raise vital funds for St Helena while also giving students valuable opportunities to develop knowledge, leadership skills and a strong sense of community responsibility.

When you make a donation to St Helena Hospice, we are charged transactional fees by other companies, including fees for processing payments made to us, looking up addresses and validating bank account details.
We are very grateful to our donors who offer to offset some of these fees with a minor addition to their total amount. This is however completely optional and we are very grateful for your support whether or not you choose to contribute to processing fees.
CloseWe are able to claim an extra 25p on every £1 on your donation amount for no extra cost to you, as long as you are a UK tax payer; have paid enough income tax or capital gains tax in that tax year; and are donating your own money. If you pay less income tax and/or capital gains tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all of your donations in that tax year it is your responsibility to pay any difference.
