Philanthropy

Philanthropy gives St Helena Hospice a secure future. It allows us to continue providing support to patients and families during life’s most challenging times.

Last year we supported over 4,200 individual and family members and received over 41,000 calls to the 24/7 SinglePoint advice line.

St Helena Hospice believes everyone living with an incurable illness has the right to live and die with choice, compassion and dignity. Families deserve to be cared for and anyone coping with loss should be supported through their grief.

Our vision is to create a community where everyone knows that at the end of their life they will be cared for and die where they choose to be; where loved ones have the opportunity to make the most of life together, surrounded by a community that cares and supports one another.

By donating a major gift you have the power to make an incredible impact on your community and the end of life care and bereavement support available for local people.

What is a major gift?

All gifts to support our work are very much appreciated and help us to deliver our charitable aims.

Making a major gift of £10,000 or above can have significant impact on our work. We love working with our amazing donors who are considering giving a major gift, to find an area of our work that aligns with their interests and St Helena’s current needs. We encourage you to get in touch today if this is something you are considering so we can begin a journey of discovery.

Your Impact

Your financial commitment to St Helena has a huge impact on our community. Take a look at these examples of how your gift can truly change lives:

  • £10,000 could provide 370 families facing the death of a loved one with advice and tools to support children to open up and share their feelings from a family support worker.
  • £25,370 could run our SinglePoint call centre for a week, providing families who are in distress with expert advice and guidance over the phone from our 24/7 helpline.
  • £40,495 could run the Hospice inpatient unit for a week, providing round the clock, expert care to up to our patients, supporting them and their families, through complex symptoms and to the end of life.
  • £109,600 could pay to run all of St Helena for two days, helping local people face incurable illness and bereavement and raising the income we need to continue providing our vital services.

If you choose to make a donation, we will promptly send you a heartfelt thank you along with a receipt for your records. Please kindly ensure that all cheques are made payable to St Helena Hospice Limited. Your contribution makes a meaningful difference, and we deeply appreciate your kindness and generosity!

Why support St Helena Hospice?

Hear from Senior Philanthropy Manager, Rosalyn Leclercq

Rosalyn Leclercq

" Every life, no matter its length, deserves the right to a dignified and peaceful ending. I have witnessed the wonders of the work of St Helena Hospice from personal experiences. It is why I felt so strongly about working here, as I wanted to make a difference and give something back. I wanted to ensure the hospice is here in the future, should the people I love ever need their support and care."

Rosalyn Leclercq

Every week St Helena receives the most heartwarming letters of thanks to our wonderful teams across the organisation...

"To the wonderful SinglePoint team, I wanted to say a massive, heartfelt thank you for the care you gave to my mum. Over the years and in her final days/weeks, before she passed away in the Hospice. Mum was so appreciative of your support and being available at the end of the phone day and night. You are all so kind and caring. I would like to personally thank you for the support and advice you have given me during this time. You are all truly the best!"

"Many of you will be aware that today we had a Wedding Ceremony/Celebration at Myland Hall. One of the party as they were leaving this evening asked me to pass on their thanks to all the staff here for a fantastic day and how much it was appreciated."

"To the nurses and staff at St Helena Hospice, we are so very grateful to you all for the loving care you took of our dear father. You were there for him and all the family for the 2 weeks he was here. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, love, support and endless hugs in those difficult days. We will remember you as the angels you truly are for what you do."
