St Helena Care & Support is proud to be part of the St Helena Hospice family. We provide kind, professional care to people in the comfort of their own homes—helping them live as independently and happily as possible.
And because we’re part of a charity, any surplus we make goes straight back into St Helena Hospice. That means every visit, every helping hand, enables us to continue offering specialist care and support to local people and families when they need it most.
Domiciliary services
Domiciliary care ( home care) means you can stay in the comfort of your own home, surrounded by your memories and routines, while getting the support you need to live well.
That might mean:
We’re here to help—your way, at your pace.
"Totally reliable, efficient and effective care service. My sister and I feel totally confident and assured the carers are providing the best possible service to make my mum's life the best it can be. Nothing but praise for the whole package, including the online care assessment plan that allows you to see all the notes and comments from the carers and allows you to send notes to the care manager/team - it's fantastic. Very professional. I couldn't recommend them more."

Getting Started - here’s how we begin:
At St Helena Care & Support, we offer more than just day-to-day home care. Our team also provides a range of specialist services designed to help people stay safe, well, and supported in their own homes—especially during times of change or crisis. These services are funded by the North East Essex Integrated Care Board and are free of charge. Referrals are made by hospitals or community health teams.
Here’s a little more about how we can help:
Urgent Community Response Service
If you’re at risk of going into hospital, we can provide up to 48 hours of care at home to help avoid that. During this time, we’ll work closely with you and others involved in your care to plan the best next steps to keep you safe and well at home.
POPs and Body Brace Service
If you’ve had a short hospital stay or need extra support to stay safe at home, we can help. This service offers up to six weeks of care and support while we work with you to assess your needs and plan for what comes next.
Night Owls
Need a little extra reassurance overnight? Our Night Owls team is on the road from 11pm to 7am, offering support and peace of mind to people in their own homes throughout the night.
End-of-Life Care at Home
We also work hand in hand with St Helena Hospice to provide care and support to people who are approaching the end of life and wish to remain at home. This care is always delivered with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Our Promise to You
Whatever service you’re receiving from us, we promise to:
We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
"A truly caring friendly care service. The team take pride in putting the client at the centre of all tasks. They pay attention to getting the little things done exactly as the client would have done them themselves. Listening to them speaking with the client you can hear the respect they give to the client and they take time to listen, which is so important when the client needs a little extra time to think and respond sometimes. I witnessed great patience and kindness. They are a team I would trust implicitly with the people I love the most."
