For £1 a week, players of the lottery are entered into a draw to win one of 217 guaranteed cash prizes - a top prize of £1,000, a second prize of £250, a third prize of £25 and 215 prizes of £10, plus a rollover of up to £25,000.
Each player selects a hospice to support and after running costs and prize funds are taken out, every penny of the rest of the £1 goes directly to support their chosen hospice. St Helena receives a small income from each membership for administering the lottery for other hospices. On average, 65% of Your Hospice Lottery income goes towards hospice care and so far we have raised over £17 million.

Make a Smile Lottery is operated by our Your Hospice Lottery team in Colchester. The draw takes place every Friday and winners are chosen at random for guaranteed cash prizes. The weekly prizes are a top prize of £1,000, a second prize of £250 and 100 other lucky winners receive a prize of £10. Plus a rollover of £500 that, if not won, each week rolls over to a maximum of £25,000.
Like Your Hospice Lottery, Make a Smile players choose a charity to support with their membership and after running costs and prize funds the rest of the £1 playing fee goes to the chosen charity. The percentage each charity receives does vary but a minimum of 20p in every £1 played goes to the chosen charity. St Helena receives a small income from each membership for administering the lottery but all proceeds stay within the charity sector.
