More information 

Walk, run or crawl – it’s up to you how you choose to make your way along the 5km signposted route around the stunning vineyard landscapes. 

Registration opens at 10am and the walk begins at 11am.  

Food and wine will be available from 12.15pm, with entertainment commencing from 12.30pm.  

Sip and stroll – your ticket will include a glass of red or white wine along the route at the Woodland stop, where you can pause, reflect, and, if you're walking in memory of a loved one, take a moment to honour them. Plus, enjoy another complimentary glass of red or white wine when you complete your walk. Dedham Vineyard will also offer rosé, white sparkling, and rosé sparkling wines for purchase after your walk, along with a selection of soft drinks, beers, ales, ciders, spirits, and cocktails. 

Perfect pairings – Upgrade your ticket option to include a food voucher and after your 5km stroll you can tuck into a well-deserved charcuterie picnic (vegan and gluten free options available), accompanied by some live music. Check out the FAQs to see the full menu.

What is the ‘Dedham Wine Walk’?
The Dedham Wine Walk is a fun event held within the scenic surroundings of Dedham Vale Vineyard. The event will be a 5km route allowing you to walk, run or crawl your way around the glorious vineyard whilst sampling wine provided by the vineyard themselves. a
When is it?
Sunday 13th July 2025. 
Where is it?
Dedham Vale Vineyard, Green Lane, Boxted, Colchester CO4 5TS. 
What distance is the walk?
The distance is 5km around the vineyard but the route will allow for supporters to walk less if required.  
Can I run the 5km distance?
Yes, the event lends itself to walking or running but remember this is a fun event to support and celebrate St Helena Hospice in their 40th anniversary year. 
What are the timings?
10am = Registration opens for all participants 

11am = Walk commences  

12.15pm onwards = Food & Wine provided  

12.30pm = Entertainment provided 

4pm = finish 
Is there a course map?
Yes, we will share the route map ahead of the event day and visuals of the route. 
Is wine available on the route?
Yes, there will be an opportunity to celebrate with a glass of  white or red wine in the woodland area on route.  
Are other drinks available?
On route, there will be wine only and upon completion of your walk. However, post walk Dedham Vineyard will provide rose, white sparkling and rose sparkling to purchase. We will also have a selection of soft drinks, beers, ales, ciders, spirits or cocktails with a full drinks list to be shared ahead of the event. 
Will there be wine at the end of the 5k?
Yes, we will welcome everyone taking part back to the main area with a glass of white or red wine from Dedham’s 2019 vintage. Here you will have the opportunity to enjoy some entertainment, a glass of wine and celebrate with friends, family and others in support of St Helena Hospice. 
What food is available?

We will have a charcuterie picnic available on the day with a vegan option. Upon selecting your ticket type, you can select with or without food when registering.

What should I wear? 
We advise comfortable walking or running shoes for the 5km walk. With the event in July, we are hoping for sunshine, so dress appropriately, including bringing sunscreen and water. We will not be offering bag drop, therefore all personal belongings are the responsibility of the owner. 
Do I have to raise sponsorship?
There is no fundraising requirement for this event and is one we are excited to bring to our supporters to help us celebrate 40 years of hospice care in the local community.

Can you enter on the day?
There is a limit to the number of registrations, so we advise to book in good time and secure your place. We will update if places are available on the day. 
Can I bring spectators?
Yes, there is an opportunity for spectators to attend and enjoy the event, however this can be limited depending on number of sign ups. Do check with our fundraising team ahead of the event and we will ensure to keep everyone updated.  
Is Car Parking available?
Yes, car parking is available of charge and you will be directed on where to park upon reaching the vineyard by a member of the St Helena Hospice Team. 
Will there be other refreshments available on the day?
Yes, we will share a full drinks and food list ahead of the event. 
How much is it to register?
  • Standard Ticket without food = £35 

  • Standard Ticket with food = £45 

  • Ticket Price on the day = £50 

Will I receive a medal?
Not of sorts, all those ‘registered’ as a Dedham Wine Walker will receive a bespoke gift from St Helena.
