Find out moreThe St Helena shops in Stanway and Brightlingsea are in the final six shortlisted in the East of England region, and the only charity shops shortlisted in north east Essex.
The competition is organised by the Charity Retail Association and will see a public vote deciding 12 regional winners and one overall winner announced later this year.
Sarah Nowlan, retail area manager at St Helena, said:
“Thank you so much to everyone who voted for our shops in the first round!
“We were delighted to hear some of the voters comments, including that our Books, Brew and Boutique shop in Stanway is a ‘hub of the community’ and also ‘how wonderful to have this safe space which is full of love’.
“Similarly, voters said our Brightlingsea shop always has ‘happy and friendly staff’ and ‘has a great community atmosphere’.
“We would love your support again by voting for the shops again in this final round!”
Votes for the two shortlisted St Helena charity shops can be cast on the Charity Retail Association website until midnight on Monday 23rd September.
St Helena Hospice has 24 shops across north east Essex, each relying on volunteers to keep them running and new volunteers for all of the charity’s shops are needed year-round. Find out about volunteering here or call volunteer services on 01206 931 466.

View moreWhen you make a donation to St Helena Hospice, we are charged transactional fees by other companies, including fees for processing payments made to us, looking up addresses and validating bank account details.
We are very grateful to our donors who offer to offset some of these fees with a minor addition to their total amount. This is however completely optional and we are very grateful for your support whether or not you choose to contribute to processing fees.
