Pier to Pier is our annual in-memory promenade walk. You can choose to walk either 7 or 14 miles starting from either Clacton Pier or Walton Pier and walking to the other. You can choose to finish at 7 miles, or turn back and return to your starting point, walking 14 miles.

Cut off date for registration is Tuesday 13th May 2025 at 11.59pm. 

7 miles from pier to pier and 14 miles if you want to walk back to your starting point.

Warm up at 9.45am 

Walk starts at 10.00am from both piers 

 

In 2025 St Helena Hospice celebrates their 40th anniversary. Our official opening took place on 20th May 1985 and this year's Pier to Pier event takes place just 2 days prior to that date to mark 40 years of hospice care. 

 

Adults = £10 with fundraising target of £40 

Children (5-17yrs) = £5 per child with fundraising target of £40 

£25 – Pier to Pier Hero with no fundraising requirement – be our Pier to Pier Hero and help cover vital care and support for patients at the end of their life from a nurse at the Hospice for an hour.   

£40 – celebrate our 40th anniversary and pay £40 for our ‘Ruby Ticket’ with no fundraising target. You will receive a medal, pin badge and a ‘special’ thank you card from St Helena Hospice.  

A minimum of £40 is expected by a fundraising participant in our 40th anniversary year. We encourage you to be BOLD and to raise as much as possible. 

 

Yes of course. When the main person registers on Enthuse they can ‘create team’ and call this as agreed by everyone. Following this, each person when they sign up can then ‘join team’ and search for the team name.  

It is very straight forward and easy to do. All fundraising pages created will then be linked to the main team page so everyone’s fundraising counts to one big team total.  

 

Yes, all pre-registered participants will receive a medal at the end. Those that choose to pay on the day and those that change their finishing point on the day may not be guaranteed a medal. 

The Silent Disco is new to Pier to Pier 2025 and will allow supporters to wear headphones while walking the route led by the company. You MUST stay in close proximity to the lead in order for signal to reach your headphones.  

Adults ONLY. 

This is only available if starting your walk at Clacton Pier, but you can still choose the 7 or 14 mile distance. 

It will cost £16 and you will have the option of 3 channels to listen from. The Silent Disco company are supporting St Helena Hospice and donating 25% of this fee to the charity. 

 

Yes, you can join the Silent Disco if walking 7 or 14 miles. Someone will collect headphones from you at Walton if walking 7 miles only. 

If donated, there may be water available but please do bring your own refreshments, especially water. Most cafes along the promenade will be open on the day. 

We will be looking to host catering at various locations but all will be communicated ahead of the event.  

Yes, there are toilets at each pier and on route too along the promenade. 

Yes, we welcome registrations on the day. This will be £25 for both adults and children. 

Yes, well behaved dogs are welcome on a lead. Keep a look out for any bespoke St Helena Hospice dog items to purchase. 

Yes it is. There are certain points where a ramp will have to be used but at these points it will be sign posted clearly and marshalled.
