Superhero Run - On the big day!

Have a healthy breakfast

Make sure you have a nutritious breakfast with carbs and protein to give you energy at least an hour before your race.

Wear the right footwear

Make sure you wear sensible footwear such as trainers and if your shoes are new it’s advisable to break them in by wearing them before your run to ensure they’re comfortable.

Stretch

Stretching before you start and after you finish your race is the best way to prevent injury and allows for better muscle recovery the next day.

Stay hydrated

Drinking plenty of water will keep you feeling fresh and replenished after all that hard work and sweating.

You don’t have to run!

Even though it’s a fun run there will be plenty of participants walking and jogging too, so don’t feel like it’s mandatory to run or that you have to run the whole way.

Enjoy yourself

Superhero Run is all about taking part, raising money for your local hospice and enjoying a great day out, so soak up the atmosphere and most importantly have fun!

Your fundraising has such a great impact on the local community

It’s because of people like you that we can continue to provide care and support to people facing incurable illness and bereavement across north east Essex. Your generosity and fundraising efforts make it possible for more people to die with compassion, dignity and choice. Your sponsorship enables patients and their families to access essential care and support to help with a range of physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs.
Without the help of the local community we wouldn’t be able to provide the valuable care our patients and their families need at such a difficult time in their lives. You really make all the difference – thank you!
