Meet our fundraising hero of the month - Melanie

Every year since 2011 Melanie has been hosting a tea party in her garden for St Helena. Each year Mel has grown her following and also increased her fundraising, now totalling an incredible £5,000!

Melanie's recent fundraising event was a great day, brilliantly supported by Mel's friends and neighbours who helped her smash her fundraising record! Specifically Mel's next door neighbour who came to the rescue during the downpour that day and allowed her to set up her tombola and raffle in their carport. With the sale of freshly made tea and coffee by Mel's husband, delicious homemade cakes and some super prizes donated by a multitude of local businesses, the day was an incredible success.

Everyone at St Helena would like to extend a huge thank you to Melanie, along with her friends, family and everyone who supported her fundriaiser. The money raised is already making a difference to patients and families within the local community and will allow us to continue to provide individual care and support to people when they need it, wherever it is needed; at home, over the phone with our 24/7 SinglePoint helpline, and at the hospice.

We also help adults and children across north east Essex to cope with grief following the death of a loved one, regardless of where or how they died. Your donations allows us to help people make their own choices and live with dignity, while also helping us to support people through their grief by offering a range of bereavement support services tailored to the individual's needs.

Thank you Melanie for your continued support, you really are a fundriasing hero!

Feeling inspired? We have a compiled a list of ideas to get you started and help you fundraise your way.
