Find out moreA popular nighttime charity walk is returning in September and is set to raise thousands of pounds for St Helena Hospice.
Midnight Walk will take place on Saturday 27th September with a 1980s theme to mark 40 years of hospice care in north east Essex.
In a special offer to mark 40 days until the event, anyone who signs up on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th August to take part, can enjoy £3 off the ticket price with code SHMNW40.
Midnight Walk, which is sponsored by Fenwick Colchester, will see hundreds of people having fun together while walking a 4 mile or 7.5 mile route at night through streets to the north of the city centre.
Both routes start and finish Stanfords on Wyncolls Road, where there will be an event village, sponsored by MHA, with music, performers, stalls and food. Participants will walk by the Hospice on Barncroft Close in Highwoods, where people can pause in memory of a loved one if they choose to.
Marcus Poston, Partnerships Fundraising Manager at St Helena Hospice, said:
“Midnight Walk is a fantastic chance to stay out late having wholesome fun with friends, family or colleagues, all while raising money for St Helena Hospice in its 40th year. So put on your best ‘80s style legwarmers and bold bright colours to light up the night and join in the fun!”
Last year, 681 people took part in Midnight Walk raising over £70,000 to support people in communities across north east Essex in need of the charity’s hospice and bereavement services.
Anyone over the age of 11 can join in but everyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
